Pee Wee League

instructional leagueThe Pee Wee League is made up of players who are at least 5 years old no later than August 1st and who are no older than 7 years of age by August 1st.

The league uses mostly standard ISHAA rules for game-play.  The only differences are:

  • All players must play either offense or defense during the 4 quarters of the game.
  • Extra points are kicked from the goal line without a defense.  The team will get two points if the ball goes over the cross-bar and one point if it goes under without hitting the ground.
  • Instead of going for two, the offense can only go for one on the extra point when not kicking.
  • Punts are not rushed.  The punter punts the ball, and the defense takes over where the ball stops.  No returns on punts.
  • The defense must have at least three players 5 yards off the ball.
  • All defensive players closer than 5 yards from the ball must be in a three or four-point stance if they are inside of the offensive tackles.
  • Two coaches are allowed on the field for each team.

Practices for the Pee Wee League will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.  All players are expected to be at every practice during the week.  If a player is going to miss practice or a game, it is the responsibility of the parent to notify the coach.  When players miss practice, the whole team suffers.  Coaches may, at their discretion, limit a player's playing time by 1/2 for each practice missed.  Coaches may also limit playing time due to disciplinary action.
